Arkansas' Home for Drag Racing Fun!

General Information

For years, Daniel and Rebecca Yoder have been deeply concerned about the youth in Arkansas. There simply isn’t anything much for them to do, and the death toll of young people killed on our roads from speeding and illegal drag racing is extremely high. Their desire was to provide something fun and safe for the youth to do. Finally, Daniel started reading about the “Flashlight Drags” that have been springing up across the country in different spots. Out of this, his dream was born of building a drag strip for the youth. Obviously the youth cannot compete against $100,000 professional race cars, so Daniel decided to build a track for street legal vehicles only. This way, anyone can race any type of vehicle as long as it is licensed and insured to drive on the Arkansas highways.

Finding enough level land up in the Ozarks was not an easy task. Daniel finally found 66 perfect acres just outside of Bee Branch, AR. Construction started in the spring of 2006. But, the neighbors rose up against the project in what ended up being a year long legal fight. The Yoders found out there was an obscure law passed in the 1990s stating that “No racing facilities can be built in the state of Arkansas for any cars or trucks modified for racing.” This law is administered by the A.D.E.Q. (Arkansas Division of Environmental Quality). Construction came to a screeching halt while the Yoders sought legal council and researched the law. Fortunately, Daniel’s original dream had been to race street legal vehicles only! Street legal vehicles are NOT modified for racing, and thus the Yoder’s drag strip does not fall under this law. After 6 weeks of delay, construction was re-started and the track was completed.

Two-Lane Blacktop Drag Strip, a 1/8 mile track, officially opened on September 1, 2006. It is a safe place for the youth and anyone else to race and have fun. It is a family park, no alcohol or drugs are permitted on the grounds. So many people are at last fulfilling their dream of drag racing without having to have a special expensive vehicle to race.

One of the big differences between Two-Lane and the other professional drag strips is that you can come and race as many times as you want. No waiting. It is all heads-up racing. Run down the track until the rubber falls off your tires. Have fun, and an opportunity to win one of the many cash prizes.

No matter how much horsepower you have, you will find someone willing to compete with you and have fun!

After much aggravation and many delays, we finally have our electronics working!

In additional to the scoreboard, we also provide a detailed printout of your race.
